Expectations
We make assessments of the children progress towards the Early Learning Goals (see the attached document) however we recognise children's varied differences and stages of development. Therefore our expectations of the children will vary in line with their developmental stage, ability and strengths. We will offer additional support wherever it is needed to support the children with elements of their learning.
Homework
Homework will gradually increase throughout the year. Initially we will send a phonics activity each week. Once the children are ready to read books (when they can blend using 16 of our initial sounds) we will send these home in addition with information around reading at home. Later in the year this will extend to maths activities also.
Any homework should be simple, easily accessible and an enjoyable experience to carry out at home. Please let us know if you are experiencing any challenges which we can support with.
Punctuality & Attendance
Our day begins at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15pm. We will welcome the chidlren each morning and see them safely to you each day. Punctuality and attendance will aid the childrens progress and allow them to have a conistent high quality learning experience in turn allowing them to feel confident and indepepdnant!
