PSHE/RSE
PSHE and Healthy Relationships
At Weston our PSHE and RSE Curriculum is centred around the bespoke needs of our children-where the needs are at the heart of our teaching and learning. We tailor the Jigsaw Curriculum to support our children in understanding and finding their place within the complex world in which they live and their valuable contributions to it.
The structure and coherence of the Curriculum places emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health.
Our whole school approach ensures we are delivering a consistent, engaging and relevant Curriculum for our children. Whilst, the incorporation of mindfulness allows our children to value and develop greater emotional awareness, concentration and focus. Our learning in PSHE underpins our whole school ethos in supporting the holistic development of all of our children at Weston.
Our Curriculum ensures that each year the children's learning is focussed around the following themes:
- Being me in my world
- Celebrating difference, inclusong anti-bullying
- Dreams and goals
- Healthy me
- Relationships
- Changing me-including Sex Education (age range appropriate.)
These themes are presented to the children in the form of Jigsaw Pieces which connect together across the year. Each Year Group follows the same Jigsaw piece at the same time and they build upon each other year on year. The progression of skills and knowledge through the school can be found in the documents below.
PSHE/RSE is led by Mr Edwards.
