Stone Age Homes
Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom
During our DT week, we learnt about the different types of shelters used throughout the Stone Age. We looked at how the shelters developed from the Palaeolithic period through to the Neolithic period. We designed some shelters of our own and discussed what a good shelter looks like. During our forest school lesson, we used natural materials to create a Stone Age shelter. Some were based on Palaeolithic caves; others were based on Mesolithic tents. Can you guess which period these shelters were inspired by?
