Curriculum
FOR FURTHER DETAIL ON OUR CORE IDEAS AND CONCEPTS, INCLUDING KEY SKILLS, PLEASE CLICK ON OUR YEAR 4 LONG TERM PLAN
We will begin Year 4 by using Anthony Browne's "Gorilla" as a stimulus for our writing.
We will also be studying lots of interesting topics across the curriculum. Check out our Topic Overview for Autumn 1 for more information.
We will use “Leon and the place between” as our focus for Literacy. We will be writing diaries, first person recounts and setting descriptions.
Spring 1 we will be using “Escape from Pompeii” by Christina Balit as a stimulus for writing historical narrative from a character’s point of view. We will also write diaries and explanatory letters.
Spring 2
This term, our literary journey will be supported by the book “Wisp a story of hope," crafting first-person recounts. We will be immersing ourselves in the rich narrative as we step into the shoes of the protagonist, delving deep into their experiences and emotions. We'll hone our storytelling skills and explore the art of narrative writing.
*Please note-all plans this year are subject to change dependant on circumstances outside our control, and also on the needs of the children as these develop. The plans you see are our intention for the academic year 20212022.
