Home Learning and Remote Learning offer

Weston Primary School aims to continue to provide an ambitious and broad curriculum in all subjects.

We have extensive plans for the provision of remote education where needed and to ensure that the children that need to be educated at home, for example, due to shielding or self-isolation, or in the event of a full lockdown, are given the support they need to continue learning.

Remote education is of a high quality and aligns as closely as possible with in-school provision and is targeted to the needs of the individual child. The strategies, resources and technology deployed when learning remotely, are as close as possible to those used in the classroom to enhance and supplement our current teaching and learning offer. Interactions online will be combined with our traditional teaching classroom based methods.

Our remote learning offer combines a variety of teaching methods, such as live face to face lessons for the whole class, small group or 1-1, pre-recorded lesson inputs and interactive activities, independent tasks, regular access to Reading platforms such as Epic, Oxford Owl, Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress and regular opportunities for well being check ins and time spent with family.

Our overarching aims are to keep our core purpose of teaching and learning continuing as effectively as possible, and to maintain a connection between staff, pupils and their families.
