This is where to find out what the homework is for Year 4 each week.

Friday November 17th 2017

(To be completed by Wednesday November 22nd)

Mathletics: Add and Subtract Mental Section: Count Forward Patterns; Count Backward Patterns; the test.

These activities will be very useful to support the children's current learning of addition and subtraction in class.

Reading Eggs:  Complete at least one lesson of your reading Eggspress journey

Spellings: serious; obvious; hideous; anxious; tremendous; jealous; enormous; glamorous; curious; dangerous; humorous; mountainous; outrageous; poisonous

These spellings fall into the new spelling pattern we are practising in class -  'ous; eous; ious'.

Plus - Times Tables Cards  - these should be practised whenever, wherever you have the time - in the car is a good idea (as long as it's the children reading the card, not the driver!).

Homework will be set every Friday and needs to be completed by the following Wednesday.

MATHLETICS: Children will be set  three Mathletics tasks each week.  These are linked to the new UK National Curriculum and can be played on home PC's, laptops, tablets, I-Pads and even some mobile phones.

READING EGGS: Children will usually to need to complete one lesson each week, although sometimes the task may vary slightly. Reading Eggs is an online and interactive reading resource and like Mathletics, it can be played on home PC's, laptops, tablets, I-Pads and some mobile phones.

SPELLING: Approximately ten words will be given each week for children to learn to spell correctly.  These will be tested each Wednesday in class.

READING: Please continue to record any additional reading your child does at home in their Reading Record book.

School Reading books will be changed every Monday afternoon, but reading takes place in school most days, so please ensure that your child has their reading book and Reading Record in school every day.
